Dentons has advised CEE Equity Partners on an agreement with the Brise Group for the investment, modernization, and development of the first open access agriculture infrastructure platform, based on 15-grain silos and logistic hubs in Romania. Kinstellar advised Brise on the deal.
CEE Equity Partners is an investment advisor to the China Central and Eastern Europe Investment Co-operation Fund II. The Fund will be investing close to EUR 60 million in a purposely structured Romanian company for the modernization, integration, development, and construction of open access grain hubs and terminals.
Brise is an independent grain trader in Romania. Based on the agreement, Brise intends to focus solely on its core grain origination and trading business once it divests its grain logistics hubs to Fund II.
The transaction will be subject to Competition Authority clearance, and the parties hope the platform will be fully operational by the beginning of the 2019 harvest season.
