PNSA Advises NTT Data on BMW Joint Venture

Popovici Nitu Stoica & Asociatii has advised NTT Data on its agreement with the BMW Group to set up a joint venture in Cluj-Napoca to enhance software competencies and foster digital transformation. Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen reportedly advised BMW.

The agreement remains contingent on regulatory approval.

NTT Data is a Japanese multinational information technology service and consulting company headquartered in Tokyo. It is a partially-owned subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone. Its Romanian subsidiary is based in Cluj-Napoca and employs around 1,800 people.

According to PNSA, "the JV is expected to hire around 250 software developers by the end of 2024 and plans to grow to a four-digit number of employees by 2027."

The PNSA team included Partners Silviu Stoica and Mihaela Ion and Managing Associate Laura Ambrozie.
