The Balcioglu Selcuk Ardiyok Keki Attorney Partnership has advised Turkish cyber security company Cyberwise and Cyberwise shareholders Taxim Capital, Faruk Eczacibasi, and Aret Killioglu, on their acquisition of Innovera Bilisim Teknolojileri. Caliskan Okkan Toker advised the seller.

2020 was quite a year and one all of us will not forget. For employment and labor law developments, 2020 was unlike any other. We saw rapid change and common themes emerge across the globe. One of the major themes was the introduction of government subsidies to support employers and maintain employment across many countries. We also saw an acceleration of remote and flexible working, and which posed both opportunities and challenges for employers and employees alike. There was also an increase in regulations that govern remote working.

On January 12, 2021, the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic confirmed the verdict delivered by the Specialized Criminal Court in February 2020 on the forging of four promissory notes of private television broadcaster TV Markiza. Businessman Marian Kocner and former minister Pavol Rusko, a onetime owner of TV Markíza, were accused of forging the promissory notes and using them to demand EUR 69 million from the television station. Both Kocner and Rusko were convicted of forging the promissory notes and were each sentenced to 19 years’ imprisonment. Dentons' Litigation team in Bratislava represented TV Markiza in the case.

Greenberg Traurig has advised companies in the Marvipol group on the sale of residential and commercial units in three built-to-rent residential projects in Warsaw to Swedish company Heimstaden Bostad. Dentons advised Heimstaden Bostad on the deal.

Dentons has advised a syndicate of underwriters including BNP Paribas, Citi, and J.P. Morgan, on Wizz Air’s successful issue of EUR 500 million 1.350% fixed Rate guaranteed notes due 2024 under Wizz Air's Euro Medium Term Note Program, which was oversubscribed with books exceeding EUR 2 billion. The notes were guaranteed by Wizz Air Holdings Plc. Clifford Chance and Ogier advised Wizz Air on the deal.

CMS and Arsov Natchev Ganeva have advised contractor Arkad on the completion of the Balkan Stream Gas Pipeline project, which was completed at the end of December, 2020. Dentons’s Dubai office, KPMG Legal and Tsvetkova Bebov Komarevski in Bulgaria, and Latham & Watkins in Russia reportedly also advised the contractor on the deal. Linklaters’s London office, reportedly assisted by DGKV in Bulgaria, advised unspecified lenders on financing for the project. 

Dentons has advised the CPI Property Group on its new five-year term EUR 700 million revolving credit facility with ten international banks, including Banco Santander, Barclays, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, J.P. Morgan, Komercni Banka, Raiffeisen Bank AG, UniCredit, and Bank of China. Allen & Overy’s London office reportedly advised the banks on the deal.
