CMS has advised Naftogaz Slovakia – the local subsidiary of the national gas company of Ukraine – on securing a natural gas trading license in Bulgaria.

Naftogaz Slovakia is an energy supply company engaged in energy commodities trading, including gas, power, and environmental products.

According to CMS, on a hearing dated October 13, 2023, the Bulgarian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission granted final approval to the request of Naftogaz Slovakia to obtain a gas trading license for the territory of Bulgaria. "Having this well-known gas trader on the Bulgarian gas market reconfirms the importance of Bulgaria as an interconnector for the region’s gas supply," CMS reported.

The CMS team was led by Managing Partner Kostadin Sirleshtov and included Senior Associate Denitsa Dudevska and Associate Viktoriya Dimitrova.
