DWF has advised Elektrownia Ostroleka and CCGT Ostroleka on an EPC contract for a 745 megawatt CCGT power plant in Ostroleka and a long-term service agreement with companies from the General Electric group.

The value of the EPC contract is approximately PLN 2.5 billion.

According to DWF, CCGT Ostroleka is a special purpose vehicle of Energa SA – one of the four largest Polish energy companies and one of the three largest suppliers of electricity in Poland. Its core business is generation, distribution, trade in electric and thermal energy, and trade in gas. Energa SA is itself a part of PKN Orlen, a multi-energy company.

Earlier this year, the Energa Capital Group carved out of a gas power plant from Elektrownia Ostroleka (as reported by CEE Legal Matters on July 13, 2021).

DWF’s team was supervised by Equity Partner Zbigniew Kozlowski, Local Partner Maciej Antoniak, and Counsel Marcin Oszczak and included Senior Partner Maciej Jamka, Partners Adrian Jonca, Piotr Kunicki, and Oskar Tulodziecki, Local Partners Pawel Stykowski, Tomasz Kaczmarek, and Milosz Tomasik, Senior Associates Patrycja Treder, Izabela Plis, and Ewelina Madej, Associates Michal Bystrzynski, Paulina Sawicka, and Karol Jaworecki, Junior Associate Dominika Sarek, Trainee Anna Kida, and Lawyers Aneta Slabik and Mariola Koska.

The GE group relied on its in-house team on the deal.
