Schoenherr has signed new legal services and partnership agreements to continue providing pro bono legal advice to Concordia – an independent NGO supporting children, young people, and families in need in Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Kosovo, and Austria – which the firm has been supporting for the past 15 years.

Concordia was founded in 1991 to "sustainably improve the living conditions of the children and young people entrusted to it," aiming to "ensure that they can grow up protected and safe, while developing healthily and freely," Schoenherr reported. In Romania, Concordia works in Bucharest, Ilfov, Prahova, and Dambovita and supports 2,000 children, youth, and families living in vulnerable conditions.

According to the firm, the partnership was renewed on November 17, 2023, at Concordia's Edu Campus in Ploiesti, Romania, where the firm's lawyers did volunteer work and met with children and young people who benefited from the NGO's educational projects.

"It is truly an honor for us to have Schoenherr as part of our Proud Partner Community, as they have supported us for so many years with all the legal services that we needed, from statute changes to property sales, to tax legislation, or the partnership development framework, and definitely not limited to that," Concordia International CEO Bernhard Drumel said. "Our work supporting children and youth living in disadvantaged communities has positively been enhanced by this support and my colleagues and I are extremely grateful for that."

The Schoenherr team working with Concordia is led by Partner Markus Piuk and has included over 75 lawyers to date.
