Schoenherr has successfully advised Stadtwerke Klagenfurt on the environmental impact assessment declaration proceedings for the Alpen-Adria-Sportbad.

Stadtwerke Klagenfurt, wholly-owned by the City of Klagenfurt, is a provider of energy, water, and infrastructure services.

Alpen-Adria-Sportbad is an indoor swimming pool project in Klagenfurt. According to Schoenherr, the Carinthian provincial government had previously concluded that no EIA was required, a decision that faced legal challenges from former municipal director Peter Jost. The matter escalated to the Austrian Federal Administrative Court, but the proceedings were ultimately terminated after Jost withdrew his appeal. With the EIA requirement definitively resolved, Stadtwerke Klagenfurt can move forward with the project at the Suedring site.

The Schoenherr team included Partner Christoph Jirak and Associate Simon Ferk.
