The first IBA Conference taking place in Bucharest will focus on the future of law firm management

The IBA Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Conference on The Future of Law Firm Management is taking place on September 22, 2023, in Bucharest. The conference will be a dynamic platform for all legal professionals, providing insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of law firm management and the legal industry's future.

Under the theme of "Building the Law Firm of the Future," the conference will examine critical topics encompassing the challenges and opportunities law firms face in today's ever changing environment. Some of the main points of discussion include:

• Law Firm Future Readiness: Navigating converging crises to ensure resilience and adaptability.
• Smart Spending Decisions: Delving into the complexities of financial management and decision-making.
• Legal M&A: Exploring the prospects and challenges of legal mergers and acquisitions.
• Sustainability of Law Firms: Exploring the sustainability of law firms.
• AI and the Legal Industry: Examining the role of AI and its potential impact on legal practice.
• Remote Team Dynamics: Fostering a healthy and effective team culture in a remote working environment.
• Client Perspectives: Insights into client expectations and considerations.

The conference is designed to equip attendees with practical advice and actionable strategies to navigate the evolving legal landscape. Jörg Menzer, Secretary General of the IBA, will open the conference.

Furthermore, The Legal 500 has surveyed over 10,000 in-house lawyers across the CEE, and using this data, David Burgess will give us an exclusive first look at the results, focusing on the practice areas where growth is expected and where demand is expected to slow.

The conference will address the lessons learned from the challenges posed by the pandemic and will emphasize strategies for building the law firm of the future over the next five to ten years and beyond.
