CMS has advised a syndicate of financial institutions on a EUR 157 million financing provided to the Okko Group for the construction and operation of a private wind power project in Ukraine. LawWhales reportedly advised the Okko Group. Clifford Chance reportedly advised the creditors.
According to CMS, the lender syndicate included the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation, and the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank. The project comprises wind power plants with a combined installed capacity of 147 megawatts and is expected to generate at least 380 gigawatt-hours of renewable, zero-carbon electricity annually, resulting in estimated carbon dioxide emissions savings of approximately 245,000 tons per year.
