CMS has advised Motel One Group on the takeover of two Austrian hotels as part of its takeover of seven Flemings-brand hotels in Germany and Austria, expanding the group’s footprint in Munich, Frankfurt, Bremen, and Vienna. Barnert Egermann Illigasch and GSK Stockmann advised Flemings Asset Management as the lessors.
The transactions remain contingent on regulatory approval.
According to CMS, the properties will be refurbished while operating and re-open under the Motel One and The Cloud One Hotels brands in 2026, with staff retained; the real estate will remain owned by the current landlords.
The CMS team included Austria-based Partners Johannes Hysek, Mariella Kapoun-Reiter, and Dieter Zandler and Associates Clara Puczynski and Alexander Sommergruber as well as further lawyers in Germany.
